Housing is central to a strong community, yet too many working families are being priced out, facing longer commutes and less time with loved ones. Amy believes everyone deserves access to safe, affordable housing. She has championed policies that expand housing options—using real estate excise tax funds to support affordable housing and homelessness, promoting density bonuses for religious organizations to build affordable units, and offering tax incentives for accessory dwelling units (ADUs). But there’s more to be done to lower living costs, support aging in place, and create a community that’s inclusive, welcoming, and affordable for all.

Neighborhood safety is a top priority for Amy, who is committed to ensuring communities feel secure. She advocates for public safety measures that address both crime prevention and community trust—supporting local law enforcement, expanding mental health resources, and ensuring that policies are fair and effective. Everyone deserves to feel safe where they live, work, and play, and Amy is dedicated to making that a reality for all residents.

Washington’s tax system unfairly burdens working families and small businesses while allowing the wealthiest to pay less than their fair share. Amy supports recent reforms, like the capital gains tax on high-income earners, but believes more must be done to make the tax code fairer. As a small business owner, she understands the challenges many businesses face and is committed to a tax structure that benefits everyone—not just the wealthy. Her goal is a system that helps families thrive and supports a balanced economy for all.

Amy knows that working families are the backbone of the community. She has focused on passing strong consumer protection laws, including reforms to end unfair “zombie debt” collection practices, preventing debt collectors from reviving expired debt and giving families greater financial stability. Moving forward, she will continue fighting for affordable childcare, wage equity, and paid family leave—because every family deserves a fair chance to succeed.

Amy believes healthy communities are built on protecting fundamental rights. She is dedicated to safeguarding and codifying a woman’s right to choose in Washington’s laws. Access to safe, legal reproductive healthcare is a cornerstone of healthcare freedom, and Amy will work to ensure every woman has the autonomy to make decisions about her own body free from government interference.

Protecting the environment is crucial for our community and future generations. Washington State implemented a plastic bag ban, a policy that I’ve been advocating for since my time on the Kirkland City Council. We’ve also made progress in transitioning to clean energy, reducing carbon emissions, and protecting our natural resources. But we need to do more to expand our environmental initiatives while ensuring that the burden doesn't fall on the backs of working communities. Moving forward, I am committed to pushing for a low-carbon fuel standard and investing in transportation options that reduce our carbon footprint. We need to continue building a sustainable future, and I am proud of the work we’re doing to protect the environment here in the 48th District.
